Two crypto brands settled for a sleeve in the Premier League. Circle took the front of Chelsea Football Club's shirt. The difference was public 49 days earlier.

June 2025: Circle lists on the NYSE, $1.1B raised, up 168% on day one. August 2025: it unveils Arc, its own layer 1 blockchain.

Then, on 10 July 2026, the OCC clears it to run a national trust bank. Federally supervised, and suddenly signable by a club under regulatory pressure.

Seventeen days later it buys IBM's blockchain patent portfolio. Nine days after that, $701M in Q2 revenue, with BlackRock, Visa and Mastercard joining Arc.

Twenty-three days later, Chelsea announced it. Its first deal in sport.

The licence was the signal. Not the money, not the product. And it sat in public for 49 days before anyone connected it to a shirt.
